Title (題名):Study on the Crustal Deformation along the Sagaing Fault Segments and western Subduction Zone in Myanmar
Abstract (要旨):
Due to plate interaction among the India, Eurasia, Sunda and Burma plates, there are two main structural control for active tectonic in Myanmar. One is the right lateral strike slip Sagaing fault, north south trending in central Myanmar and the other is the subduction of India plate beneath the Burma plate in the western part of Myanmar. This study mainly focuses on the crustal deformation along central to southern segments of the Sagaing fault and western subduction by using both continuous and campaign Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network data. First, the study mainly focuses on interseismic deformation along central to southern Sagaing fault segments by using 2-D dislocation model (Savage and Burford 1973) to estimate slip rate, locking depth, shear strain distribution along the Sagaing Fault. Second, the study focuses on the recent Thabeikkyin earthquake which occurred on 11 Nov 2012 in central Sagaing fault and to estimate the coseismic fault model for this earthquake. Third, the rectangular fault model for the subduction zone is constructed in the western part of Myanmar based on the available GNSS data by applying the Savage’s (1983) back-slip model with non-linear inversion method of Matsu’ura and Hasegawa (1987).
